I have posted below a new release. A beautiful Specimen Black Pine 11" tall in 11" pot. This tree has a powerful 3" trunk.
-
Fall is fast approaching as I can see it in our maples. After an extremely hot July and August their leaves are starting to curl and dry up. The good news is that the Junipers and Pines loved the heat and are at their peak. It looks like our deciduous trees will be going dormant early this year as leaves are already starting to drop.

I am starting to catch up so I will be photographing our new release's and trying to get them on our site. A magnificent Specimen Black Pine, 12 Specimen Mountain Maples, 200 Sohin Elms, 25 Trident Maples group (3) plantings and many more.
Coming to the 2010 BONSAI SYMPOSIUM in Rochester N.Y. Our NURSERY WILL BE OPEN FRIDAY THE 10th TILL 4pm and will be closed Saturday and Sunday (I will be out of town, but be sure and stop by our Bonsai Store for all your needs. 2.5" Trunk Chinese Elm Bonsai ,06ce56

2.5" Trunk Chinese Elm Bonsai, it's 20" tall and is in a 14" pot.Trees are subtropical and can be kept indoors with proper light and moisture. They do need to be placed in a cooler area to go dormant. 06ce56 Chinese Elm - Ulmus parvifolia General Information: Chinese elm is fast growing, deciduous or evergreen depending on its location, forms a graceful upright rounded canopy with shiny, dark green leathery leaves. elm is moderatly salt tolerant. Several dwarf varieties, sports of Ulmus parvifolia, exist which grow slower than the ordinary Chinese elm but it produces a much finer network of twigs and branches. It is these sports which are used for bonsai. Family: Ulmaceae. Lighting: Will grow in full sun or partial shade. Temperature: Zones 5B - 10A. More restricted zones may apply to some of the dwarf varieties. Watering: Needs a lot of water. Fertilizing: To retain and produce small leaves, do not feed high nitrogen fast-acting fertilizers. Feeding three times a year is sufficient to maintain good color and healthy growth without enlarging the size of the leaves. Pruning and wiring: Most shaping can be done by pruning. The bark is thin and may be damaged easily. Propagation: Cuttings may be made from new tip growth taken in early summer. Repotting: They transplant well. Use Hollow Creek Farms Double Screened or Professional Main Bonsai Soil. They have heavy root growth so must have root room. Be sure to add Hollow Creek Farms Micro Plus to the root area when transplanting. Pests and diseases: Boreres and chewing insects seem to be the only pests bothering the plant. Cankers may develop on young trunks where soil is excessively wet.
